Fantine Degroote, only 20 years old: from the Chartreuse to the 2022 Olympic Games!

European Mogul Skiing Champion in 2021, a child of the Chartreuse Massif, Fantine Degroote is embarking on her conquest of the Beijing Olympic Games to fulfill her dream. We are proud that Sandrine Chappaz Chocolate Shop counts among her sponsors to meet this challenge!

We have known Fantine since her earliest years, a child of Chartreuse, she grew up surrounded by snow, fir trees, (and the delights of the chocolate shop 😉) and the slopes of our beautiful mountains. From the age of 3, Fantine began skiing with her parents.

After their move to Savoy for professional reasons, Fantine discovered the joys of mogul skiing at La Plagne. An Olympic discipline that is part of freestyle skiing, in mogul skiing, the skier moves along a slope approximately 250 m long equipped with moguls, as well as two jumps that allow them to perform acrobatic jumps of their choice (backflips, spins, etc.).

In 2016, Fantine joined the Savoy Committee group with which she devoted herself fully to mogul skiing for 10 months a year. In 2017, at age 16, she joined the France Pole in Albertville, the high-level program of the French Skiing Federation.

And since then, Fantine has been traveling across Europe in pursuit of new victories !

After her European Championship title in 2021, Fantine is taking on a new challenge : in 2022 it will be off to the Beijing Olympic Games ! 

Following her journey closely from the beginning, we are particularly proud to stand beside Fantine in achieving this new milestone in her elite athletic career !

As a sponsor, we contribute to financing her 2021/2022 season. Although a member of the French team, the life of a high-level athlete requires additional personal operating budget to travel to train under the best conditions, to undertake numerous physical preparation programs, and to equip properly with quality equipment.
