« Bleue comme demain », one of our commitments for biodiversity !
It is of paramount importance to us to practice our craft as Chocolate Makers with respect for the environment. To this end, we have taken various actions, including joining the initiative of the company « Bleue comme demain ».
Created in 2018, « Bleue comme demain » is a project designed to raise awareness of biodiversity among one million people in France. How? By enabling companies to sponsor a hive. Its ambition? To install 1,000 biodiversity hives by 2023, for the well-being of bees, humans and nature.
Discover more about « Bleue comme demain »Bees are an essential link in biodiversity. Without the intervention of pollinating insects, including bees, many flowering plants would disappear.
Recognizing the necessity of preserving bees and their environment, « Bleue comme demain » invites companies to sponsor a chestnut wood hive, which will welcome a new swarm to the collective company apiary, located on the Saint-Jean de Chépy Estate in Tullins.
Particularly aware of the current ecological challenge, we have chosen to commit alongside « Bleue comme demain » by sponsoring a hive since September 2021, alongside around twenty other companies from the Voironnais region, including AS Fluid and Abela.
The fight to preserve our environment remains at the heart of our craft because our creations also come from the mountains and countryside surrounding us, including our harvests of fir buds, elderflower, and other regional plants and fruits that we hold so dear. This is why we work as much as possible with local producers, even sourcing products for certain of our delicacies from our own garden (basil, savory and other aromatic herbs for our Ephemeral Herbaceous Collection). This is also true of the honey we use for making our chocolates. It does not come from our famous hive, but from the « Ruchers de Chartreuse », located in the heart of the Chartreuse Regional Natural Park.
Among the significant challenges we face, packaging represents an area of continuous improvement, so that our chocolaterie's production follows a virtuous, ethical and sustainable approach. Thus, recently, we changed the packaging of our famous marshmallow bears, now presented in recyclable cardboard boxes. As for the wrapper that forms the primary layer of our chocolate bars, it is no longer plastic but 100% cellulose, compostable and biodegradable.
